About

Most industry commentary tells you what happened. I try to tell you what it means.

Real estate is being rewritten in real time. Chris Linsell has spent his career at the front of that story.

He currently serves as Chief Marketing Officer at The Mitten Group, a Michigan-based independent brokerage, where he leads brand strategy, agent development, and the systems that help top producers scale in a market that keeps changing the rules. Before that, he was Director of Content at Luxury Presence, where he helped shape the editorial and strategic voice of one of the fastest-growing technology companies in residential real estate. His earlier career includes senior roles at The Close and Elm Street Technology, and more than a decade of hands-on experience as an agent, team member, and brokerage founder.

He is a two-time Inman Marketing All Star and a member of the inaugural SoFi Real Estate Advisory Council. His work has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Bankrate.

Chris writes and speaks about where the industry is headed, with a particular focus on how AI is changing the way agents work, market, and win. He publishes weekly at chrislinsell.com and writes The Bottom Line, a newsletter read by real estate professionals across the country.

He lives in Traverse City, Michigan, where he grew up, with his wife and two daughters.

What I write and speak about

Real Estate & Technology

How technology is reshaping the agent-client relationship, the brokerage model, and the transaction itself. And what every serious player in the industry needs to understand about where it's headed.

Artificial Intelligence

What AI actually means for real estate professionals right now. Not the hype, not the panic. An honest assessment of what's changing, what's not, and what to do about it.

Marketing & Brand

How brokerages, teams, and individual agents build brands that last in a market where attention is harder to earn and easier to lose than ever before.

The Future of the Agent

The role of the real estate agent is being redefined in real time. What that looks like, what it demands, and what the agents who survive it have in common.
